Who I am
Tara Whiteson Tuition is run by Tara Whiteson, a self-employed English tutor based in Brighton & Hove, UK. I am the controller of the personal information described here. You can contact me at hello@tarawhitesontuition.com or on +44 7813 714679.
What I collect
When you send an enquiry, I collect the details you choose to give: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, where you are based, your child’s first name and year group, what you would like help with, your preferred format and times, and anything else you write in your message. If tuition goes ahead, I also keep records needed to teach your child and to invoice you.
Why I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange lessons (with your consent, and to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement).
- To teach, give feedback and keep in touch about lessons (to perform our agreement).
- To keep financial records (a legal obligation).
I never sell your details or share them for marketing.
Where it is kept
Enquiries are delivered to my email and stored securely by Cloudflare, which hosts this website. Lessons take place on Zoom and work is shared in Google Docs. These providers may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don’t lead to lessons are deleted after [12 MONTHS]. Records for students I teach are kept for [RETENTION PERIOD] after lessons end, and financial records for six years.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. I use privacy-friendly, cookie-free visitor statistics that do not identify you.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you, object to how I use it, or withdraw your consent at any time by emailing me. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
